Contract extended with LSMC

Naya Goreto (NG) has extended contract with Lalitpur Sub-Metropolitan City (LSMC) on 25 August 2013, for the continuation of the program "Orientation Classes on Drug and HIV for schools and colleges students and Parental Education on Drug issue for women’s Groups ". The projects aims to prevent the young generation from Drug and other blood borne diseases and also educate parents on the issue of Drugs, HIV and AIDS, beside that it empowers the Drug Users community through conducting the educational session from school/college to large community of lalitpur District.

Contract Extension with National Tuberculosis Center

Naya Goreto informs all the viewers that Naya Goreto is extending its contract with GFTM to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria/National Tuberculosis Center for the continuation of the project "Nepal National Strategic Plan- Implementation Stop TB strategy", for the third consecutive year. Naya Goreto will conduct several awareness, interaction, training, workshop, orientation programs related to TB, HIV, TB/HIV co-infection with different target groups and stakeholders.  

Contract Extension with Youth Vision/The Mainline Foundation

Naya Goreto has also extended contract with Youth Vision/The Mainline Foundation for the continuation of the project "Bridging the gaps; Health and Rights for Key population", for the second consecutive year. During the project period Naya Goreto will conduct several advocacy, orientation, and training, interaction programs with stakeholders, PUD community, key persons, and local level government bodies for bridging the gaps in access to health and education for the key population.  

Contract Extension with UNODC (H13 & FIDUs)

NayaGoreto extended the contract with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the Project "Prevention of transmission of HIV among the Injecting Drug users" H13 for a period of one year which will end on 15th November 2012. The contract for the project "Comprehensive Package for Female Injecting Drug Users" will be extended by 15th January 2012. Both the project aims to prevent the injecting drug users from HIV including different blood borne infections. The project will be implemented in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Sunsari district.  The activities include Orientation, advocacy programs, Behavior Change communication, Peer Education Meeting  and several programs on harm reduction.

Contract Extension with National Tuberculosis center (NTC)

NayaGoreto recently extended the contract with National Tuberculosis Center (NTC) for the project "Nepal National Strategic plan 2010-15, Implementation STOP TB strategy" was extended upto July 15 2012. The project activities includes orientation, sensitization, training and several awareness programs as well as empowerment programs on TB, HIV and TB/HIV co-infection with different target groups for reducing stigma and discrimination towards the infected people.

 The project will be implemented in several parts of the country viz. Kathmandu, Rupandehi, Kaski, Dhanusha, Chitwan, Argakhanchi etc. Further a Knowledge, Attitude and Practice study (KAP study) on TB, HIV and TB/HIV co-infection will be carried out in five districts of Nepal. The basic aim of this study is to know the perception of people on TB, HIV and TB/HIV co-infection as well as to generate the level of knowledge among the general people. Likewise, Female Community Health Workers of more than 20 districts of Nepal will be oriented on the infection control and spread of disease cough etiquette, importance of ventilating homes for TB patients etc.  The project activities are targeted to be implemented before the end of the contract of second year, which is by 15th of July 2012.

Naya Goreto partnership with National Tuberculosis Center (NTC)

Naya Goreto was selected as one of the Sub-recipients  (SR\'s) of National Tuberculosis Centre (NTC). Naya Goreto assisted NTC to support the activities concerning of TB and HIV issues in Nepal under the Global Fund R7 grant. Thus, Naya Goreto on 25th January 2011 signed a contract with the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) for working in the field of TB, HIV and TB/HIV collaboration in implementing the project"Nepal National Strategic Plan 2010- 2015 - Implementation Stop TB Strategy".

The project duration is for three years which was commenced on 16th November 2010 and will end on 15th July 2013. The main objective of the project is to create awareness among the general people and related stakeholders on TB, HIV and TB/HIV co-infection issues. The project intends to aware the HIV infected people on TB as it is one of the most occurring opportunistic infections among the people with HIV. The project was implemented on four districts namely: Kathmandu, Rupandehi, Chitwan and Kaski.

Naya Goreto have successfully accomplished one year project with anticipated achievements in the field of TB, HIV and AIDS conducting several project activities. Naya Goreto is in further process of resigning the contract with the National Tuberculosis Center (NTC) as soon as possible.

 

5th General Assembly of Naya Goreto

Naya Goreto for the fifth time successfully conducted General Assembly among the members of Naya Goreto. The Executive Board Members were present in the program as well as other general members represented the program. The assembly reviewed financial progress report of the organization for the fiscal year 2067/68 and reviewed all the programs of the organization. The program manager of the organization presented all the activities details to all the executive board members which was well appreciated by the board members.

Mrs. Karuna Bajracharya, Vice president of Naya Goreto due to her busy schedule resigned from the post of Vice President and in her place new president was selected. Beside all the remaining members were dedicated to support and contribute the organization for a period of three years from today.

Contract between Naya Goreto and National Tuberculosis Programme

Naya Goreto on 25th January 2011 signed a contract with the National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) on working in the field of TB/HIV. The project duration is for three years which was commenced on 16th November 2010 and will end on 15th July 2013. The main objective of the project is to create awareness among the general people and related stakeholders on the TB/HIV co-infection issues. The project intends to aware the already HIV infected people on TB as it is one of the most occurring opportunistic infections among the People with HIV. The project will be implemented on four districts namely: Kathmandu, Rupandehi, Chitwan and Kaski. Thus this project has intended to create mass awareness among the PLHA’s and the general people as well as to empower them through different programs including trainings, Orientation programs, advocacy programs etc.
